The other customers often recognize me, and seem to be comfortable with my presence. I don't need to say anything other than "Time for my fill" or "Time for my pedicure." The girls know just what to do for me, and they do it.

I wonder if your wife said what she did, while hoping that you wouldn't actually do it? If so, that became a self-fulfilling prophecy! I don't think the ladies at your salon would have taken exception to the tech giving you red polish. They might have even enjoyed watching it! But you had to do what you saw fit at the moment...

As for the medical issue interfering with her vision...that may well be, but since she made the comment she did, my guess is that "she probably knows, and chooses to ignore" until the time is right.

But your response of "they have been painted for weeks" would be correct and accurate!

Since a shellac pedicure is dry as soon as you step out from under the little uv light, one of these days I'll ask the girls to pick out a deep blue color of regular polish and have them paint over the shellac. If my wife rebels when she sees what I'm wearing, I'll be able to remove the blue myself and just leave the usual silver showing, which she's fine with.

Thanks for your responses!

Mandy
Mandy Shermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01547323395921637440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6483143481224034343.post-32314908655293759182013-12-30T09:31:55.852-08:002013-12-30T09:31:55.852-08:00It surely seems like you have become a regular at ...It surely seems like you have become a regular at your nail salon. Just another one of the girls.
A few weeks ago I went for a mani/pedi. I joked with my wife before I went that I was going to get color on my toes. She retorted that I would not do it. I ended up simply having clear polish on both fingers and toes. When I got back I told her I had planned to do the toes but chickened out on a color since there were other women at the pedi chairs and I just lost my nerve.
A few days later I did put a red color on my toes and she has not said anything about it yet. I just go about my business like normal...which included wearing pantyhose at almost all times. She has had a chance to see my toes but has not mentioned the color. I do not know if she has not recognized that my toes have red polish or whether with her slow recovery from eye surgery she just cannot see well enough. She is still bumping into walls and has not even thought of trying to drive.
We will see if she noticies my toes and if she says anything I can casually and truthfully mention that they have been painted for weeks.
PatPat Scaleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00148601231866277374noreply@blogger.com
